As a teacher, educational assistant, and personal support worker I witnessed colleagues experience burnout, guilt, compassion fatigue, inability to set boundaries, and people pleasing behaviours as they prioritized the needs of others over their own.
It was a masterclass in human behaviour, empathy, and crisis management. I loved working with people from all backgrounds and transitioned to psychotherapy so I could help exhausted adults and children manage anxiety, stress, depression and overwhelm.
